Meet the Summer Day Camp Director
Steve has been the Director of World of Discovery Summer Day Camp for over 30 years. Steve has been a Principal of a Private School on Long Island for 17 years. Steve’s children have been attending World of Discovery for years. Steve is dedicated to providing a positive summer camp experience for children, families and the wonderful summer camp staff who care for the children.
An Adventure A Day...
At World of Discovery Summer Day Camp of Bayside, Queens, NY summertime is a season for children to expand their horizons, explore new territories, and discover new and exciting things about themselves.
All children enrolled in World of Discovery Day Camp will build new skills, discover new things, make new friends, and realize a newfound confidence.
Through our structured programming, campers are encouraged to participate and excel in those activities that interest them the most. Both group and individual instruction are offered, and children are generally grouped according to age. Positive reinforcement and encouragement are the cornerstones of all World of Discovery Summer Day Camp programming.
High Ratio of Dedicated, Qualified Summer Day Camp Staff
We maintain a high ratio of counselors to campers. Moreover, we are very selective about our summer camp staff. To qualify for a World of Discovery Summer Day Camp position, counselors must meet stringent standards and qualifications. Above all, they must demonstrate a total commitment and caring for children. We know we have selected the best staff when they continue to return year after year.
Our Summer Camp Head Counselors and Directors are experienced, New York State Certified teachers and are trained in Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), first aid, and Responding to Emergency (RTE) measures.
